Anger...Grrr...

Bismillahirrahmanirrahim...

try imagining humans devoid of emotions. we'll be like robots and there will be no way we could understand each other because we could not convey our feelings or emotions to each other. try saying 'i love you' to your friend monotonously with a straight face and later try it again with full emotions. there is definitely a difference, eh??

when you are full of emotions, it shows on your face, your body language, Subhanallah.. and your sisters in Islam could tell and feel the connection through the emotions you portray. this is such a wonderful gift from Allah Taala and we should cherish it by controlling and manage our emotions rightfully.

emotions should be controlled. we could allow emotions to get the best of us at certain times. but there are times when we are influenced by the Syaitan and we tend to get 'over the top' emotional and this is not good. anger is a form of emotion which we should eliminate all together.

Narrated Abu Huraira:

Allah's Apostle said, "The strong is not the one who overcomes the people by his strength, but the strong is the one who controls himself while in anger"

Narrated Abu Huraira:

A man said to the Prophet , "Advise me! "The Prophet said, "Do not become angry and furious." The man asked (the same) again and again, and the Prophet said in each case, "Do not become angry and furious."

anger could induce us into doing unpredictable and horrible things. this is obviously because we are not acting based on our senses and we were being clouded by negative thoughts. often vanity is the culprit. And these negative thoughts come from no other than the Syaitan. Thus we should always seek for protection from Allah from these kinds of influences.

And if (at any time) an incitement to discord is made to thee by the Evil One, seek refuge in Allah. He is the One Who hears and knows all things.(41:36)

one of the ways to relieve anger would be to perform ablution (wudhu).

Narrated Atiyyah as-Sa'di:

AbuWa'il al-Qass said: We entered upon Urwah ibn Muhammad ibn as-Sa'di. A man spoke to him and made him angry. So he stood and performed ablution; he then returned and performed ablution, and said: My father told me on the authority of my grandfather Atiyyah who reported the Apostle of Allah (peace_be_upon_him) as saying: Anger comes from the devil, the devil was created of fire, and fire is extinguished only with water; so when one of you becomes angry, he should perform ablution.

another thing to ponder is the reason for us to feel outraged. what is the cause of us being so upset? are we being angry for the right reasons? is it worth feeling this way? some things are just not worth being upset about. emotions are nothing but just amplification of what we perceive. it is all in our minds...All in our minds...
